Measurable Translation Performance

Representatives of General Motors, Ford, and Chrysler, together with representatives from translation suppliers, convened in the fall of 1997. At the SAE E/E Diagnostic Systems Committee, the task force established the J2450 standard against which the quality of translation of automotive service information can be objectively measured.

SAE J2450 Translation Quality Metric bases quality scores on seven types of errors:
