EC Innovations (EC), participated in the 2007 Tekom conference held in Wiesbaden, Germany from November 7th to 9th, where Shirley Yeng, CEO of EC’s Singapore office, delivered a very successful presentation about how to Find Chinese Localization Partners. In recent years, China has seen tremendous growth in the localization area with many service providers being available to assist the localization needs in other parts of the world. Who are credible Chinese providers and what indicators can help to identify their professionalism and level of service? Shirley shared her in-depth knowledge and extensive experience addressing these questions during the conference.
In her session, Shirley specifically explained the eight qualification criteria to help international companies find and evaluate the right localization partner in China: 1. history/background/growth pattern; 2. business development strategy; 3. supporting structure; 4. project team qualification; 5. communication capability; 6. quality assurance capability; 7. trial translation performance appraisal; and 8. ongoing support. These criteria look towards providing the practical knowledge of assessing vendors and helping the companies speed up the process of looking for a suitable Chinese partner.
The Tekom Annual Conference is Europe’s largest international event in the field of technical communication and information development. It covers the entire chain of information development from the creation of information to the preparation of specific product information for multiple markets and languages. The conference again was a great success and saw more than 2,000 conference attendees this year.
