ECI Transuite
These clever modules can help improve the speed and accuracy of human translation. And they’ll do the same for automated translation processes too.
Smart Term
Before starting any translation project you'll want to set up a glossary. The glossary supports consistent terminology usage, as well as being a valuable language asset in its own right. But glossary creation can be a time-consuming business, as linguists trawl through all the copy in each project, to cut and paste every word they want to keep.
SmartTerm simplifies that process. With SmartTerm, linguists simply highlight all the words or phrases they want to add to the glossary. At the click of a button every marked-up term is automatically imported into the glossary file.
Trados4SAP
This gets a little technical, but stay with us here. SE63 is a powerful SAP translation environment, much used by SAP and its partners. But since SAP is not an open environment, linguists cannot share the Translation Memory (TM), or work with any of the popular CAT tools out there - until now, that is.
To address the challenge of the closed environment, EC Innovations developed the Trados4SAP plug-in (see what we did with the name there?), which is an integral part of ECI Transuite. This clever little plug-in allows linguists working in SE63 to use Trados Workbench to share translation memories in real time. And by factoring in TM Share (a powerful application module in ECI Transuite), linguists everywhere can share their translation memory in real time, via the internet.
TM Share
For any project involving more than one linguist, translation consistency can be an issue. Once linguists on a team get together and share their collective translation memory, the problem is solved. But that’s easier said than done with remote teams working on different platforms and with different CAT tools.
That's why we developed TM Share - it's a simple yet powerful module within ECI Transuite. It allows dispersed teams of linguists to share translation memory in real time, in any location, via internet access.
LanRobot
It's only human to make mistakes. Linguists working on a translation project can mis-transpose a number, type the wrong word, or fail to protect an XML tag properly. Configure LanRobot to help, and it can automatically check numbers, tags, consistency, term translation - and many other variables too. You can customize LanRobot to check both single and double-byte languages, as you wish.
At present, LanRobot supports bilingual Word and TTX files, with more formats to be added soon.
Tag Protector
Many types of file rely on markup tags to denote content attributes. SGML/HTML/XML files all use tags, and InDesign, Quark and Framemaker files are also converted into tagged text ahead of translation.
It's all too easy for translators to accidentally change a tag here and there - and damage the functionality of the file they are working on. That's why tags need to be protected during any translation process. Certain CAT tools (computer-aided translation tools, such as Trados Tageditor) can successfully handle the protection of tags in popular file formats. The tags in less widely used files will need manual protection. And that's where EC Innovations TagProtector comes in. This proprietary tool lets us identify all tags and define formatting rules to protect them during translation.
QAPro
Traditional quality reports are time-consuming to prepare, relying on extensive cutting and pasting on the part of linguists. EC Innovations has a new application module to help - QAPro, which is part of Transuite. QAPro automatically extracts and copies any changes made during the review process to a quality report, at a single click. QAPro works with popular CAT tools, including Trados, Catalyst, Passolo, Wordfast, Idiom Wordserver and Fortis.
EZ Review
EZ Review is our online platform for online proofreading, review and QA of translations. Users can modify bilingual CAT files, adding comments, create markups and generating modification reports as they go. Handy file management features include date-stamping and automatic e-mail notification of others in the team.
